Bath Community Hospital has state-of-the-art technology and telemedicine connections with advanced medical centers. Our doctors are able to make complete, accurate, and timely diagnoses of your injury or illness.
Any tests not performed in our hospital lab are sent out Monday-Friday to a reference laboratory and results are transmitted back to us electronically.
Laboratory
Bath Community Hospital is home to a full-service laboratory. The CLIA-certified, COLA-accredited laboratory employs the latest instrumentation and technology to provide services in the areas of hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, bacteriology, and transfusion medicine.
Other divisions of testing include drug abuse screening and breath alcohol analysis. The well-trained, knowledgeable staff includes ASCP and NCA certified medical technologists and technicians.
Under the direction of an experienced pathologist, the COLA-accredited Transfusion Service laboratory provides state-of-the-art blood transfusion support for BCH patients. Skilled technologists are available 24 hours a day to select and prepare leukoreduced red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma for transfusion.
A partnership with the American Red Cross makes it possible to offer platelets, cryoprecipitate, and specially prepared blood components to meet the individual needs of patients.
Radiology
The Radiology Department at Bath Community Hospital provides imaging technology services for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The department provides a full spectrum of routine diagnostic services. X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasounds are available on a routine and emergency basis. In addition, mammography appointments can be made through the radiology department without a doctor’s referral.
The Radiology Department is staffed with board-certified radiologists and licensed technicians.
