Millie Williams Earns Senior Fitness Specialist Certification

Millie Williams, Exercise Tech, has recently earned her Senior Fitness Specialist Certification from The American Fitness Professionals & Associates. This certification recognizes her expertise in designing and implementing fitness programs for seniors.

When asked about her achievement, Millie Williams shared, “I love my job and helping people.” This passion for serving others is not new to Millie. She started her career in health care at the age of 15 when she began participating in Mrs. Bratten’s SEEDA Program at Bath County High School, a program for students embraced by Bath Community Hospital. Physicians took advantage of the opportunity presented in a clinical learning environment to teach and mentor students in various roles related to patient care. Millie became a full-time employee in the Respiratory Services Department 41 years ago, in February of 1982. Millie points out that the hospital looked much different back then. Since her beginning, Millie has served in several areas, including the Central Supply Department, Cardiac and Pulmonary Therapy, Home Oxygen, and today in the Wellness Center. During this time, she learned much about patient care and has many stories to share. Millie’s caring and compassionate nature has improved the physical health of many in Bath County.

“Millie has inspired and touched many lives in her service to help her clients reach their full potential. We are blessed to have her on our team”, says Jeff Lingerfelt, CEO of Bath Community Hospital.
