Bio

Dr. Ward is a 1994 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, and a 1998 graduate from our nation’s military medical school, the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.  He is board certified in Emergency Medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).  He has held an active medical license in Virginia since 1999.

Dr. Ward retired from a 24-year military career in 2021.  He has a wealth of experience providing Emergency Medicine around the globe, from stateside level I trauma centers, to small six and ten bed rural Emergency Rooms, to tent and backpack based expedient and austere aid stations overseas.   He also has extensive experience in medical leadership positions and is formally recognized as a Certified Physician Executive by the American Association of Physician Leaders (AAPL).

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Ward enjoys spending time with his family hiking, backpacking, golfing, and skiing, as well as traveling to US national parks and international destinations.
