Medical Records Tech – Part Time

Details:
• Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of patients.
• Insures that patient information is collected.
• Interviews incoming patient or representative and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.
• Responsible for the overall compiling and maintaining of medical records.

Requirements:
• High School graduate
• Medical background (preferred)
• Registered Health Information Technician-RHIT (preferred)
• Registered Health Information Administrator-RHIA (preferred)

 

 

 

Certified Pharmacy Tech (Hot Springs Pharmacy and Inpatient) – Full Time

Details:
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
• Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing, by repackaging, labeling, compounding, handling and storing pharmaceuticals, maintaining accurate records when required
• Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
• Assist in the control and audit narcotics/stock substance. Documents controlled substance dispensing records from pharmacy, keeping a continuous audit of inventory.
• Demonstrates ability to compound with proper aseptic technique preparations for IV administration. Maintains proper records required for compounding. Completes annual competency review successfully.
• Maintains a working knowledge of aspects of pharmacy services relative to a pharmacy technician’s job description: – Medical terminology and abbreviations – Drug names and classifications – Medication order and prescription interpretation – Preparation procedures for non-sterile dosage forms – Pharmaceutical calculations – Aseptic technique and preparation procedures for all ages, sterile dosage forms – Federal and state laws governing the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of controlled and non-controlled substances. – Medication error prevention methods
Requirements:
• National or State of Virginia certification or currently enrolled in an approved Pharmacy Tech program (required)
• If enrolled in a program must obtain Pharmacy certification within 6 months of employment (required)
• CPR
• Register with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy
• Basic computer knowledge
• Knowledge and training in HIPAA
• 1 year prior Pharmacy/Medical experience (preferred)

 

Radiologist  PRN
Details:
• Evaluate patient medical history to ensure test will not cause harm.
• Perform diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography.
• Ability to operate the Imaging equipment.
• Accurately read and interpret Imaging studies and provide final results to the ordering Provider.
• Provides verbal results in emergent situations as well as the final report.
• Diagnoses illnesses and injuries.
• Suggests alternative studies when the ordered test cannot be performed.
• Assumes the role of the Radiation Safety Officer.
• Oversees the Mammography Program and is the Lead Interpreting Physician for the program.
• Provides CME and other documents as required by the ACR.

Requirements:
• Current M.D./D.O. license (required)
• Board Certified Radiologist with completion of fellowship (required)
• Three years of direct clinical experience (preferred)
• Significant experience CT, MRI, and Digital Mammography (required)
• Current valid ACLS and BLS Certification (required)

 

 

ECHO Technologist-Ultrasound –PRN

Details:

  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) (required)
  • ECHO certification (required)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred)
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.

 

ALS Transportation Provider  – PRN

Details:

  • Responsible for the safe transportation of non-ambulatory patients to and from medical facilities
  • Ensure that pick-ups and drop-offs are made in a proper, courteous and timely manner
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, promoting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • While not transporting patients ALS Provider will work in the Emergency Room.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent (required)
  • Current certification in Virginia as an EMT-Intermediate, Paramedic or CCEMT-P (required)
  • Current ALS certification (required)
  • Current EVOC certification (required)
  • Clean driving record from DMV (required)
  • Minimum age 21 (required)
  • Previous transportation and/or Emergency Room experience (preferred)

 

Coder
Full Time

Accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases. Assigns physician and procedures charges as appropriate, utilizing accurate CPT and modifier usage. Ensures that records are coded in a timely and accurate manner.

Details:
• Ensures that records are coded within 48 hours of discharge, excluding weekends and holidays.
• Reviews charts thoroughly to ascertain all diagnoses/procedures.
• Contacts responsible physician in a professional, tactful manner, if diagnosis is not available on chart.
• Meets quality standard of having 100% of correct physician level assignment as supported by provider documentation.
• Refers chart to Director, if there is a question regarding diagnoses/codes.
• Utilizes computerized coding and abstracting equipment.
• Codes all diagnoses/procedures in accordance to ICD-10-CM coding principles.
• Meets quality standards of having 95% of principal diagnoses and procedures appropriately and/or coded.
• Maintains the number of DRG/coding changes below the 3% quarterly per PRO threshold.
• Stays current with changes in coding requirements. Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.

Requirements:
• Previous health care work preferred.
• Certified Coder from accredited entity required;
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.

 

C.N.A. – PRN

Details:
• Inpatient-Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment
• Emergency Department-Assist nurses and physicians with providing care to acutely ill patients
• Register patients and collect copays
• Collect samples for lab analysis, gather patient information, monitoring EKGs and heart rhythm, treat wounds and assist doctors and nurses during procedures

Requirements:
• Previous acute care hospital work experience (preferred)
• ACLS and PALS Certification (preferred)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (required)

Details:
