Revenue Integrity Analyst – Full Time

• Works with Managers of Revenue generating departments to ensure services are appropriately, accurately and consistently accounted for daily and deductions from revenues are minimized. This will be accomplished through a thorough knowledge and accurate set up of the Charge Master, regular charge audits, knowledge of governmental regulations and other payor contract requirements followed by ongoing communication and training.
• Design, plan, organize, and direct orientation programs for employees in Revenue and Documentation Integrity, specifically around requirements based upon the following: National Coverage Determination (NCD), Local Coverage Determination (LCD), Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) and Additional Documentation Requests (ADR) as well as other process and policy documentation requirements and improvements.
• Determine training needs through charge audits, surveys, interviews with employees, or consultation with managers
• Work with Managers to obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials for charge capture and daily audit routines using resources like the CMS Learning Center as appropriate.
• Takes responsibility for working with Managers to develop processes to ensure accurate and appropriate documentation to support coding and billing efforts as necessary
• Functions as a key member of the Finance Team and supports the Team by completing whatever projects or tasks necessary to meet required deadlines including Budgets, compiling information for the year-end Audit or Cost Report, various financial analyses and reporting.

Certified Pharmacy Tech (Retail: Hot Springs Pharmacy and Inpatient) – Full Time

• This position works both in the Retail Pharmacy and the Inpatient Hospital pharmacy

• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
• Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing, by repackaging, labeling, compounding, handling and storing pharmaceuticals, maintaining accurate records when required
• Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
• Assist in the control and audit narcotics/stock substance. Documents controlled substance dispensing records from pharmacy, keeping a continuous audit of inventory.
• Demonstrates ability to compound with proper aseptic technique preparations for IV administration. Maintains proper records required for compounding. Completes annual competency review successfully.
• Maintains a working knowledge of aspects of pharmacy services relative to a pharmacy technician’s job description: – Medical terminology and abbreviations – Drug names and classifications – Medication order and prescription interpretation – Preparation procedures for non-sterile dosage forms – Pharmaceutical calculations – Aseptic technique and preparation procedures for all ages, sterile dosage forms – Federal and state laws governing the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of controlled and non-controlled substances. – Medication error prevention methods
• National or State of Virginia certification or currently enrolled in an approved Pharmacy Tech program (required)

Radiology Tech – Full Time

• Demonstrates knowledge of positioning patient on examining table to obtain optimum views of specified area, ordered by the physician.
• Ability to perform radiographic studies on patients of all ages, interacting appropriately with all ages groups, from infants to geriatrics using the proper technique.
• Assists radiologist in administering opaque contrast media.
• Ability to practice radiation protection techniques, in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards and with departmental standards and policies regarding radiation safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Produces radiographs of good technical quality.
• Notifies and works well with equipment repair staff as required.
• Demonstrates ability to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level and does not require constant supervision of technical detail.
• Demonstrates ability to operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient’s bedside, efficiently.

• Current State license if required
• Registered as a radiologic technologist with ARRT

Pharmacist – PRN

• Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure dose accuracy and medication and /or ingredients needed
• Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients
• Monitors all posting onto the patient profiles in order that accuracy, drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicate therapy, rational drug therapy and incompatibilities may be realized and better patient care received
• Answers questions and provides information to physicians, nurses, patients and other health care professionals on the appropriate use of medications, drug interactions, side effects, dosage, storage, etc.
• Assists in teaching (Departmental Medical, Nursing, Community)
• Ensures the maintenance and proper operation of equipment and supplies in the work areas
• Maintains established procedures concerning quality control, security or controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste
• Reviews and monitors drug therapy that requires dosing adjustments as authorized by the physician.
• Provides pharmaceutical care to all ages of patients from newborns to the elderly. Understands that there are dosage variations between newborn, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients and knows where to find appropriate information.

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
• Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of Virginia
• Education in all age groups ranging from newborn to the geriatric population obtained either in school education or subsequent training




Coder – Full Time

Accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases.  Assigns physician and procedures charges as appropriate, utilizing accurate CPT and modifier usage.  Ensures that records are coded in a timely and accurate manner.


  • Ensures that records are coded within 48 hours of discharge, excluding weekends and holidays.
  • Reviews charts thoroughly to ascertain all diagnoses/procedures.
  • Contacts responsible physician in a professional, tactful manner, if diagnosis is not available on chart.
  • Meets quality standard of having 100% of correct physician level assignment as supported by provider documentation.
  • Refers chart to Director, if there is a question regarding diagnoses/codes.
  • Utilizes computerized coding and abstracting equipment.
  • Codes all diagnoses/procedures in accordance to ICD-10-CM coding principles.
  • Meets quality standards of having 95% of principal diagnoses and procedures appropriately and/or coded.
  • Maintains the number of DRG/coding changes below the 3% quarterly per PRO threshold.
  • Stays current with changes in coding requirements.  Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.


  • Previous health care work preferred.
  • Certified Coder from accredited entity required;
  • RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
  • Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.


Maintenance Assistant/Groundskeeper- Full Time

• Responsible for groundskeeping at all BCH facilities to ensure a professional appearance. (mowing, trimming, raking leaves, picking up trash, bush trimming, landscaping, shoveling and plowing snow, etc)
• Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary
• Collaborate with maintenance ensure the grounds and the outside of the building are always properly cared for
• Responsible for making weekly trips to laundry (in Roanoke) to drop off and retrieve linens.
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools
• Assists with maintenance duties which may include: replacing bulbs, painting, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry work, and other building systems.
• Perform inspections per life safety and joint commission requirements
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed
• Assist with coordinating fleet maintenance

• 2-3 years previous groundskeeping experience. (required)
• 1-2 years previous maintenance experience (preferred)
• Must be able to follow direction, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
• Must have a valid drivers license and meet BCH Driving requirements.


Nurse Practitioner (Covington) – Full Time

• Ability to perform health assessments, including a thorough history and physical examination, ordering or performing certain diagnostic tests, evaluation of the psychosocial and family aspects of the situation sufficient to make a general health assessment, and diagnose the nature of common acute and chronic conditions.
• Promotes maintenance of family health, including planning or periodic health assessments and screening for early case findings, assessment and guidance with regard to health hazards, child rearing, good family health habits, family planning, mental and emotional problems and continued maintenance of contact and rapport with the family.
• Ability to manage common acute and chronic illness, including minor trauma, episodic problems, common chronic disorders, as well as counseling and education with regard to such problems, performance of minor surgical procedures and initiation of life saving procedures in emergencies.
• Recognizes need for referral of complex and high priority cases to the physician on duty with regard complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic problems, reevaluation of chronic conditions, etc.
• Ability to work as a member of the health care team, and assisting in education of patients and the target community in preventive health care and health maintenance concepts.

• Current Virginia License to practice as nurse practitioner

ECHO Technologist-Ultrasound –PRN


  • Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Coordinates work schedule with Departmental Director and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage.
  • Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care.


  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) (required)
  • ECHO certification (required)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred)
  • Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.

ALS Transportation Provider  – PRN


  • Responsible for the safe transportation of non-ambulatory patients to and from medical facilities
  • Ensure that pick-ups and drop-offs are made in a proper, courteous and timely manner
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, promoting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • While not transporting patients ALS Provider will work in the Emergency Room.

• Inpatient-Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment

• Register patients and collect copays
• Collect samples for lab analysis, gather patient information, monitoring EKGs and heart rhythm, treat wounds and assist doctors and nurses during procedures
