Dr. Jane Russell

CEO

Bio

Dr. Russell is a nationally respected healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience leading rural and critical access hospitals. She brings deep expertise in hospital operations, strategic service development, and patient-centered care.

Before joining Bath Community Hospital, Dr. Russell served as Chief Operating Officer at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, Oregon, where she oversaw operations, a $152 million annual budget, and more than 500 employees. Under her leadership, the hospital earned recognition as a 2023 American Hospital Association Rural Health Leadership Finalist and launched innovative programs in oral health, behavioral health, surgical services, and robotics.

Her career also includes leadership roles in Alaska, where she guided healthcare delivery for tribal communities and remote regions. She served as Vice President of Hospital Services at the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation, supporting care for more than 25,000 Alaska Native residents across 50 communities, and as Vice President for Medical and Surgical Specialties at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, overseeing specialty services for 158,000 residents.

A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Dr. Russell currently serves as the ACHE Regent for Oregon, contributing to national discussions on rural health, workforce development, and inclusive leadership.

Dr. Russell earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Creighton University and an MBA from Western Governors University. She is board-certified in oncology pharmacy and brings both clinical insight and operational expertise to her role.
