After many months of planning and preparation, Bath Community Physicians Group opened it’s doors Monday, October 24, 2016 at their new riverside street location in Covington, VA. The Bath Community Physicians Group is a department of Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia, and will offer primary care as well as behavioral health services to the community. Kim Moyers, Family Nurse Practitioner, will be the main provider in the office. Kim joined Bath Community Physicians Group in June of this year and has been working out of their Hot Springs office until the Covington location was complete.
Kim started her career in healthcare in Alleghany County where she worked for 17 years as a Registered Nurse prior to becoming an FNP in 2003. Since 2003, she has actively practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a variety of capacities which including Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Urgent/Walk-In Clinic, West Virginia PCC Home Visit Team, Nursing Home Coverage, and once again in a clinic setting seeing acute and chronic health patients. “I have handled workman’s compensation injuries and complete wellness/preventive health physicals including the new CDL/DOT physicals. It is my passion to deliver quality, compassionate healthcare to those in the Alleghany and Bath County Communities,” said Moyers.
Although originally from a rural community Orange, VA, once married to Kevin Moyers, Kim relocated to Alleghany County to start a family. They have two daughters, Cora Beth who is in Vet School at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee and Emily Jane who is at Virginia Tech hoping to become an occupational therapist. They own a small cow/calf operation and feeder calf operation for an area cooperative program.
“I’m looking forward to getting settled into our new location and seeing patients of this community. As a resident of this area, I understand the challenges residents face when searching for primary care. We know this is a much-needed service to the area and we’re excited that Bath Community Hospital is able to fulfill this need,” said Moyers.
The clinic is located in the old Riverside Health Center building and will be open Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm to see patients.
