Comprehensive Physical and Occupational Therapy Programs

Bath Community Hospital provides rehabilitation services to people recovering from injury and illness in the hospital and at Bath Community Rehab & Wellness Center.

Our comprehensive physical and occupational therapy programs assist individuals recovering from surgery, stroke, injury, or illness in achieving optimal functional outcomes.  We also specialize in health promotion and disease prevention programs for those individuals who want to achieve or maintain healthy lifestyles.

OUR PROVIDERS:

Danielle Martin, PT, DPT

Danielle Martin was born and raised in Millboro, Virginia.  She graduated from Concord University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Athletic Training and Marshall University in 2015 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She has been practicing physical therapy at Bath Community Hospital since 2015.

Danielle enjoys working with patients across the entire lifespan but has a special interest in pediatrics and adolescents.  She is a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner and a Hesch Sacroiliac Practitioner.  She has experience in several areas, including manual techniques such as strain/counter strain, mobilizations and myofascial release, vestibular dysfunction, orthopedics, and other musculoskeletal and neurological dysfunctions.

Samantha Plecker, LPTA

Samantha Plecker is a native of Bath County and graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2015 as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with her Associate of Applied Science degree. She serves as the Rehab Team Lead and has worked for Bath Community Hospital as a therapist since 2015.

Samantha practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment, emphasizing therapeutic exercise, posture and core stability, fall prevention, balance training, and ergonomics.

Erin Roberts, OTR/L

Erin graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with her Bachelor of Health Studies and Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2012 with her Master of Occupational Therapy. Erin Roberts, a native to Bath County, has worked at Bath Community Hospital since 2015.

Erin’s special interests are in lymphedema therapy, CarFit, splinting, and upper extremity physical rehabilitation. In addition to her Masters of OT, she is also a licensed EMT and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.

Sheryl Hanger, PT, MS

Sheryl was born and raised in Waynesboro, Virginia, and got her Bachelor of Science in Physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. She went on to get her Master of Science in Community Health Education at Old Dominion University.

Sheryl has over 35 years of experience and has been at Bath Community Hospital since 2003. She has had experience in just about every aspect of physical therapy, but she has a special interest in Dry Needling, Manual Therapy, Orthopedics, TMJ dysfunction, and Craniosacral therapy.

Each of our therapists treats in the outpatient setting at Bath Community Rehab and Wellness Center as well as an inpatient at the hospital, treating acute and skilled patients.

Bath Community Rehab & Wellness include a top-notch fitness center with cardiovascular and strength training equipment. A variety of fitness classes are available, as well as personal training.

Monthly and annual memberships are available to the public. A free health assessment and orientation to the equipment are included.

Monday  – Thursday 6:00 am – 8:00 pm
Friday 6:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
